Latus
A personal tool for renovation planning with a hierarchy of zones, assemblies, and components.
Overview
Latus is a personal project for planning and managing renovations. Its data model resembles CAD/PLM systems: a project is split into zones containing a nested hierarchy of assemblies and components. This describes the composition of a space, enables component reuse, and provides a basis for estimates.
The workspace shows an expandable project tree on the left and an inspector for the selected item on the right.
Implemented
- Projects, zones, and assemblies with APIs for creating, viewing, and changing data.
- A project-structure tree with nested assemblies.
- Tree selection, branch collapsing, and in-place renaming.
- An inspector for editing the selected project, zone, or assembly.
- Reusable component definitions that can be attached to assemblies.
Technical foundation
The backend uses C# and ASP.NET Core with Domain, Application, Infrastructure, and API layers. PostgreSQL access is implemented through Entity Framework Core. The client is a TypeScript React application built with Vite and Zustand; Docker Compose supports local development.
